Tunisian court sentences minors to 10 years in sexual assault case

The Tunisian Court of First Instance sentenced three minors to 10 years in prison for being convicted of sexually assaulting a child with special needs. The court based its ruling on investigative findings, medical reports, and forensic evidence, which confirmed that the defendants lured the victim and forcibly assaulted her. This verdict is considered significant given the age of the offenders and the circumstances of the child, as Tunisian laws specify special procedures for juvenile offenders, including prohibitions on the death penalty or life imprisonment, allowing for sentences of up to 10 years in serious crimes.
