Oppo plans unusual phone with 16:9 screen
Recent leaks reveal that Oppo is developing a smartphone with an unusual design based on a wide screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, featuring features such as ultra-thin bezels reaching just 1mm, with an approximate width of 81mm and a screen size estimated at 6.5 inches. This design aims to enhance the experience of watching videos and playing games by providing a wider horizontal space, compared to current long-aspect-ratio phones. The phone is expected to be wider than traditional devices, offering a screen area of around 117 cm². It may be unveiled in the first quarter of 2027, reflecting a new trend toward wider phones better suited for video content, though it might face challenges in one-handed usability.
