Madrid media criticizes refereeing after Betis match
The confrontation between Barcelona and Real Betis centered on the controversy surrounding refereeing decisions that affected the course of the match. The referee disallowed Giovanni Lo Celso's goal after consulting video technology, claiming an unintended handball by Cotcho Hernández, despite the handball having occurred well before the Argentine player's shot. During this time, Barcelona scored two goals, while Betis managed to reduce the deficit with a third goal. However, significant protests from the Betis team and their coaches targeted the referee's decisions, leading to red cards and tensions within the match. This further fueled the debate over the quality of refereeing and its impact on the outcomes of matches in the Spanish league.
