Drones strike cities and dams in eastern Sudan

The drone attacks on areas in eastern Sudan, including Gedaref, Khashm el-Gharbiya, and Kassala, come within the context of the ongoing war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. Reports indicate that the drones targeted military and civilian sites, with ground defenses intercepting and shooting them down. These attacks are part of an escalation in military operations in the region, which previously saw attempted strikes on Gedaref Airport and ammunition stores in Khartoum. Reports also point to both sides utilizing advanced attack drones, with mutual accusations between Sudan and Ethiopia of facilitating drone launch operations, amid escalating military and security tensions in eastern Sudan.
