Teibas responds to ministerial accountability request
The article concerns the confrontation between Javier Tebas, head of La Liga, and the President of the Spanish Higher Sports Council, regarding Tebas's comments criticizing Real Madrid's publicity and media strategies, comparing them to Nazi Joseph Goebbels's methods. This comparison angered the club, which called for Tebas's resignation. Tebas responded by emphasizing that his criticism targeted propaganda approaches, not Nazi ideology or the club's supporters. He affirmed that his statements relate to a systematic critique of the repetitive selective and biased methods used in sports media. This crisis comes amid escalating disagreements between Tebas and Real Madrid over issues such as refereeing and the club's channel's role, amid differing views on freedom of expression and institutional responsibility.
