Bresa withdraws from Fayeenano-Bilbao match

A large-scale public protest by Rayo Vallecano supporters led to the cancellation of their team's match against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, after fans threw paper planes and rubber balls onto the pitch, causing the game to be stopped twice and the referee to declare it ended before continuing. The protests were a reaction to the neglect of the club's owner, Raúl Martín Presa, who is accused of ignoring and dismissing the club from the attention of regional authorities, leading to the relocation of home matches to alternative venues and fans feeling frustrated by the lack of support and neglect. This match was the first at the Vallecas Stadium after its closure due to safety issues, and the team experienced a decline in attendance as a result of harassment and criticism directed at Presa, reflecting widespread anger and dissatisfaction among supporters toward the club's management.
