Moscow Responds to Trump's Call on Ukraine

Russia expressed its welcome for U.S. President Donald Trump's statements regarding the need to change the Ukrainian leadership, calling for the election of a new president in Ukraine instead of Volodymyr Zelensky. Russia's chief negotiator, Kiril Dmitrieff, stated that Trump's remarks are "pivotal and historic," highlighting the importance of Ukraine focusing on peace rather than the current war policies amid the tense relations between Washington and Kyiv over efforts to end the war with Russia. Ukraine's presidential elections face legal and security challenges, with a continued state of emergency preventing the election from taking place during the wartime period.
