Washington Urges Israel to Strike Iran Alone

The Israeli newspaper Maariv revealed that Washington proposed during talks with Israel in the past two weeks to carry out a solo attack on Iran before the upcoming US midterm elections, but the US administration has so far retracted this proposal. Washington aimed to avoid potential political repercussions of direct US involvement and was prepared to have Israel bear the risks of the attack. It is not yet known what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's position is regarding launching an independent Israeli strike on Iran. Discussions within the US administration about military options against Tehran are ongoing, including limited strikes and targets related to Iranian interests. Some advisors prefer to delay any action until after the elections, fearing an Iranian response that could jeopardize American forces.
