Turkey arrests journalists on investment funds crisis

The case reveals Turkish investigations into a major investment scandal that surfaced in September, where charges of spreading false information were brought against several journalists. The court decided to imprison some of them pending trial, while others were released on bail. The case involves the involvement of two ministers in extensive manipulations in the investment fund market, which led to the resignation of a prominent figure from the ruling Justice and Development Party. The allegations have raised questions about the profits some ministers may have gained from suspicious investments. Officials deny the charges, while the government accuses the media and opponents of spreading lies and defamation. Meanwhile, journalists are facing trials related to their coverage of the case.
