Europe maintains UNIFIL presence in southern Lebanon

The European Union's Foreign Policy Chief, Khaya Calais, confirmed that the EU supports extending the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which is set to conclude on December 31, 2026.
