Portugal fines Ronaldo after walkout

Portuguese soccer federation has suspended Cristiano Ronaldo and opened disciplinary proceedings after he left the national team camp during an international break, citing a dispute with coach Jorge Jesus over playing time. Ronaldo's departure occurred amid his criticism of the coach's decision-making, and he acknowledged he expected a suspension, while also hinting at possible farewell matches. The federation's regulations could impose a suspension of one to six months and a fine for abandoning team activities without justification.
