Trump admin's first military execution in 65 years

The planned December execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed 13 soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009, will be the first military execution in the U.S. in about 65 years and the first to be livestreamed, sparking bipartisan criticism. Hasan was convicted by a military court-martial of premeditated murder and sentenced to death, with President Trump approving the sentence. The decision to livestream the execution has been widely condemned as barbaric, drawing comparisons to public executions in authoritarian regimes.
