Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had foiled a terrorist plot in the south of Sistan and Baluchestan province after monitoring and pursuing the cell on the basis of intelligence. The operation resulted in the death of one member and the arrest of others, while the search for those who fled is ongoing. The IRGC said the group had planned to target security force headquarters and block the road between Zarabad and Konarak, and that swift intervention prevented the attacks from being carried out. The announcement follows other security operations in the province during October.
