CNN Arabic fact-checked a circulating video claimed to show the Houthis reaching Al Anad Air Base in Lahij and concluded that it was old and did not prove the claim. The video was posted on January 4 and 5, 2026, and described as showing looting in Hadramout, with no reliable context about what it depicts. Al Anad, Yemen’s largest military air base, remains under the control of the internationally recognized government’s forces, despite reports of Houthi movements and clashes in Lahij.
