America cancels 300,000 visas
The article focused on the revival of Donald Trump's administration's policy of tightening immigration measures in the United States since the start of his second term in January 2025. It reported that over 300,000 visas have been canceled so far, a number exceeding the 175,000 visas revoked last August. These measures include canceling visas based on legal violations or threats to national security, as well as expanding checks on migrants' social media accounts. These policies, justified by Washington as necessary for protecting national security, have sparked human rights criticisms accusing the government of targeting political opponents—particularly those participating in pro-Palestine protests or opposing Israeli policies. There are concerns about their impact on civil liberties and migrant rights, with increasing fears that they may lead to discrimination based on ethnicity or political beliefs.
