Germany recalls Iranian envoy over espionage
The German Foreign Ministry strongly condemns Iranian activities aimed at targeting Jewish figures and threatening the lives of those defending them in Germany. It confirms that it has summoned the Iranian ambassador in Berlin to clarify its position following the conviction of two individuals on charges of espionage and planning attacks, including an assassination attempt against Jewish officials in Europe. The sentences handed down to a Danish man and an Afghan on charges of planning terrorist attacks linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard show that Iran is orchestrating acts of violence and seeks to export terrorism to Germany. Germany reaffirmed its rejection of these actions, warning of hybrid attacks by the Iranian regime in Europe. It also mentioned its cooperation with international intelligence agencies to confront these threats.
