Video - Violence in Mexico over government building
Mexico has experienced a surge in protests and violence due to the water crisis in Guadalajara, where protesters stormed the government palace in Jalisco state and set it on fire, along with widespread looting. Demonstrations against water pollution and shortages, which escalated into riots, led to fires being set at the entrances of the state parliament building and other public places. The protesters denied any connection to the masked individuals who carried out acts of vandalism. The residents of the area have faced major issues with water supply for years, including black water with a foul smell, following authorities' admission of the presence of coliform bacteria in the water.
