Israel's Production Decline Report
A report from the Shorish Institute for Research indicates a decline in Israeli economic productivity, which has decreased by approximately 15% compared to the G7 average in 2023. This follows a high of 9% above the average in 1975. Additionally, labor productivity per hour in Israel has fallen to its lowest level in decades, now 34% below Germany and 30% below the United States. The high-tech sector remains the only industry surpassing the average of developed countries, while productivity in other sectors has fallen by as much as 24%. The deterioration of the education system and the emigration of skilled professionals, along with an increasing number of doctors leaving abroad, are weakening Israel's economic competitiveness. In response, the government has proposed comprehensive reforms to improve educational and economic performance.
