Mainland China denounces Taiwan's historical claims
Mainland Chinese authorities criticized the statements made by the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in Taiwan, which promote a distorted narrative of history, considering that these aims are to incite confrontation between the two sides. They affirmed that the liberation of Taiwan from Japanese occupation and its return to China are two historic victories for the Chinese people. They also stated that the true situation in the Taiwan Strait is that there is one China, and that efforts to incite and demand "Taiwan independence" through military means will lead to a dangerous situation and a disaster for the island's people. China warned that the separatist rhetoric threatens regional stability and exposes Taiwan to significant risks.
