Referee doubts lead Arbeloa to fine
The English Football Association has fined Fulham's head coach, Álvaro Arbeloa, £25,000 and issued him a formal warning following his comments after his team’s draw against Manchester United in the Premier League. Arbeloa made remarks implying bias on the part of the referees, suggesting that the decisions in that match favored the opposing team, particularly concerning the equalizing goal and a prior goal scored from an apparent foul. This led to him being accused of inappropriate conduct. This penalty comes amid a decline in his team’s results, as they currently sit at the bottom of the table with just two points from their first six matches, having yet to secure a victory this season.
