Russia targets Kyiv energy sites
The Russian forces launched a series of nighttime strikes on Ukraine, targeting energy facilities and infrastructure, resulting in the death of 6 people and injuries to dozens more. Wide-scale power outages occurred in Kyiv, and infrastructure in other areas was damaged. Kyiv did not receive any prior warnings about the attacks, which led to displeasure from President Zelensky, especially after a thermal power plant was hit by a ballistic missile. On the Russian side, Moscow announced that it intercepted an attempted drone attack by Ukraine, which it described as the largest in two years, resulting in the downing of hundreds of drones near Moscow.
