French student protests lead to clashes
Protests by high school and university students continued in Paris, calling for improved study conditions and increased funding. Their demands included addressing the shortage of teachers, providing medical and educational staff, and reforming the university admission platform "Parcoursup," which is believed to deepen social inequalities. The protests clashed with police forces, who used tear gas, and featured groups of protesters dressed in black known as "Black Bloc." Tensions on the ground remained high. President Macron called for dialogue and rejected any acts of vandalism. These demands are part of a broader movement that began in September, prompting the government to face questions about its responsiveness to funding issues and resource shortages, while protesters persist in pressing for better educational environments.
