Accusations Against Eritrea After Tigray Conflicts
The recent clashes between Ethiopian forces and the Tigray People's Liberation Front have continued to heighten tensions at the border with Eritrea. Ethiopian factions loyal to the government accused Eritrean forces of violating Ethiopian sovereignty and suffering heavy losses as they retreated toward the border, according to unofficial sources. Eritrean troops had entered Ethiopian territory to support the rebellion, but their withdrawal increases the risk of renewed regional conflict. The tension escalated further after the Tigray Front lost control of several major cities. The international organization has called for avoiding escalation, amid growing fears of a full-scale war between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
