Egypt reaffirms support for Saudi Arabia on Houthis
Egypt renews its full support for Saudi Arabia in confronting the attacks carried out by Yemen's Houthi group. It has announced its readiness to provide all necessary forms of assistance and emphasized that Saudi Arabia's security is an integral part of Egypt's national and Arab security. At the same time, Saudi Arabia rejected an Israeli request through Washington to participate in the conflict with the Houthis, as it is believed that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman refuses Israeli military intervention in Yemen in order to preserve its public relations, especially after the Houthis intensified attacks on airports and facilities in Saudi Arabia, resulting in the death and injury of hundreds. It is noteworthy that the Houthis' escalation includes repeated drone attacks on Saudi targets since October 2023, amid ongoing military confrontations since 2015, when the Houthis took control of Sana'a. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia affirms that energy supplies continue despite the attacks and supports the international community in addressing the Houthi threats, with assurances that it will not cooperate with Israel on this matter.
