UK Interior Ministry disrupts Syrian surgeon
The article discusses the British Home Office's decision to revoke the asylum protection granted to a Syrian cosmetic surgeon residing in London since 2016, following the government’s declaration that Syria has become a safe country and that he should be returned there. The surgeon, who fled the Assad regime and is currently working at a clinic in Britain, faces deportation despite his objections and protests from his lawyer. The decision is considered a serious precedent because it involves the complete withdrawal of asylum protection and contradicts the United Nations' recommendation against resettling refugees in Syria due to the ongoing insecurity and instability. It also raises fears about potentially devastating impacts on those who have built their lives and future in Britain.
