Albanese: Gaza hit with six nuclear bombs
The United Nations Human Rights Officer for the Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, described the situation in the Gaza Strip as horrific. The area has been subjected to intense bombardments equivalent to six nuclear bombs per strike, resulting in the deaths of over 74,000 people and the injury of 157,000. The population is suffering from diseases and malnutrition, and thousands of Palestinians are being displaced to other areas. She pointed out that Israel has intensified its bombardments of the sector over the years, dropping a total of 223,000 tons of bombs, and the situation continues to worsen. The city of Rafah has been nearly completely destroyed, and the healthcare sector is collapsing. Albanese called for international support to address this catastrophe, but such efforts face American pressures and significant political challenges.
