Houthis mobilize blood banks amid rising casualties
Over the past two days, the Houthi group has launched an intensive campaign to collect blood in Sana'a and the surrounding provinces, aiming to meet the increasing demand for blood types due to the rising number of wounded among their ranks as a result of recent military clashes. The group has used equipped vehicles and trucks, along with loudspeakers, to urge residents to donate, directing medical sector workers and neighborhood officials to mobilize citizens at donation centers. This campaign comes amid a continued rise in injuries on the frontlines and their impact on hospitals, which are under mounting pressure due to the large influx of wounded, along with deteriorating public health conditions and shortages of medicines. These circumstances highlight significant challenges in providing healthcare for civilians in areas controlled by the group.
