Iran reveals details of Spider Web plan targeting Fairford
New details have emerged about a possible Iranian plot to target Fairford Air Base in Britain using drones, prompting the United States to withdraw 12 B-1 bombers from the base as a precautionary measure. American and British officials stated that intelligence indicates Iran intends to carry out a complex attack inspired by the Ukrainian "Spider Web" operation, involving the smuggling of drones or equipment from inside Britain to strike the bombers or target military personnel on the ground. This threat has led to heightened security measures, including arrests related to terrorism, amidst accusations against Iran that Tehran denies. The announcement comes amid growing concern over unconventional attacks on American and European facilities, with warnings of the potential targeting of key military bases using low-cost yet advanced methods.
