Yemen coalition targets Houthi sites
The Arab Coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen announced that it carried out a military operation in Al Hudaydah Governorate, targeting military sites affiliated with the Houthis. During the operation, weapon stores, improvised explosive boats, and sea mines were destroyed in order to protect navigation security in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. This operation comes as part of the coalition's efforts to thwart imminent attacks on maritime routes, following an escalation that began in July 2023 after the situation worsened due to the breakdown of the ceasefire between the parties. The coalition confirmed that the operation resulted in the destruction of legitimate Houthi targets and forms part of ongoing efforts to regain control of occupied areas and reduce the threat posed by the Houthis to vital maritime routes in the Red Sea.
