US envoy holds talks with Sudanese general
The article discussed a rare meeting between an American official and Sudanese Army Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Egypt, as part of efforts by the United States and regional countries to find a political solution to the ongoing Sudanese crisis since April 2023. These meetings are part of initiatives to support comprehensive dialogue among Sudanese political forces, amid the ongoing war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has displaced over 14 million people. Washington has accused both sides of committing war crimes and genocide, while neither party has acknowledged any violations.
