The Israeli prosecution announced that it has filed charges against a university professor in Petah Tikva, a 60-year-old who teaches mathematics at Bar-Ilan University, for planning attacks aimed at killing hundreds of Israeli Arabs and Palestinians, with the goal of forcing them to flee to neighboring countries. The suspect had been working on devising a plan since February 2023, which involved arming 72 Jewish militants across 12 cells to carry out mass terrorist attacks in mixed cities and Arab towns, with support from elements within the Israeli army. He was unsuccessful in recruiting partners to execute his scheme, which aimed to drive Arabs to flee into Jordan, Lebanon, and Gaza. It is worth noting that the prosecution has requested his detention until judicial procedures are completed. Bar-Ilan University is following the case and has emphasized its strong condemnation of the actions attributed to the professor.
