Rubio on US bomber withdrawal from UK base
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the United States still trusts the security of its bases after the arrest of five men near a British airbase, who were planning to carry out terrorist attacks. In response to a question about the withdrawal of B-1 bombers from the base, Rubio explained that resource allocation is being adjusted based on need, and that the withdrawal of the bombers was not directly linked to the incident. Earlier, the United States withdrew 12 B-1 bombers from Forth Worth Air Force Base near London, which had been used in strikes against Iranian sites, following suspicions of a terrorist plot by individuals connected to a foreign entity aimed at causing significant damage. U.S. President Donald Trump praised the quick response of American and British authorities in addressing the threat.
