Trump: Europe agrees to release diesel stockpiles
The article discusses the US administration's attempt, led by Donald Trump, to pressure the European Union into releasing its diesel reserves in order to reduce high fuel prices, which have increased due to the Iran war and escalating tensions in the Gulf and the Middle East. The United States announced that Europe has agreed to release large quantities from its diesel stockpiles, a move expected to lower diesel prices, which currently have an average national rate of $6.37 per gallon— the highest level in some time. This step comes as part of broad efforts to counter rising oil and fuel prices, amid European discussions on measures to address the increase in prices, and growing US pressure on Europe to utilize emergency reserves to restore market balance.
