Egypt Journalists Syndicate on 'Metasaddesh' team
The Egyptian authorities have recently arrested six journalists from the editorial team of the "Matssadaqsh" platform, which specializes in fact-checking, without any official announcement regarding the reasons for their detention or their whereabouts. The Journalists Syndicate has called for their immediate release and for the disclosure of their detention locations, considering this escalation a threat to press freedom and the independence of newsrooms. This escalation occurs amid a lack of legal transparency and is the clearest evidence of increasing restrictions on independent journalism in Egypt.
