Saudi Arabia plans to repatriate Flydubai passengers to Israel
The events escalated after a forced landing of a "Fly Dubai" plane at Tulkarm Airport in Saudi Arabia, following an incident of violence inside the aircraft that led to a sudden emergency landing. The Israeli government canceled its security tour and conducted consultations with Riyadh to ensure the safe evacuation of the 174 Israeli passengers, despite the absence of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries. Israel is currently considering several scenarios, including sending a military aircraft or using a "Fly Dubai" plane with a replacement aircraft, with the United States mediating the coordination between the parties to ensure the evacuation process is completed. The airport confirmed that the passengers are receiving care, and investigations are ongoing regarding the incident, which resulted from a fight onboard that triggered a false distress call, sparking panic and heightened security alerts.
