Morocco 2026 Elections Challenges
The article discusses the upcoming parliamentary elections in Morocco, scheduled for September 23, 2026. These elections take place amid significant economic and social challenges, most notably the preparations to host the 2030 World Cup in the country, in collaboration with Spain and Portugal. It is expected that the forthcoming government, formed by the elected parliament, will face pressure to accelerate infrastructure projects related to the tournament, including roads, airports, and hotels, while also leveraging these developments to boost economic growth and create sustainable employment opportunities, especially for youth. Furthermore, this stage requires addressing social issues such as unemployment, improving education and healthcare services, and balancing major development projects with the daily needs of citizens. Experts emphasize that the success of the government depends on its ability to connect the 2030 projects with social development efforts and to manage national resources efficiently, ensuring that citizens benefit from investments and that sustainable development is achieved after the conclusion of the World Cup.
