Why were 340 drone attacks on UK sites
The article discusses the surge in drone attacks targeting British military sites over the past year, with 340 incidents related to drones recorded near Ministry of Defense facilities in Britain up to August 2023. Data shows that the number of incidents in 2025 reached 250, doubling the figures from 2024. These attacks are part of the broader context of hybrid warfare, in which Russia is accused of intensifying its assaults on European countries through espionage and sabotage operations. Germany, Belgium, and other nations have accused Russia of attempts to destabilize the region. The British government emphasizes that it remains vigilant in confronting these threats, establishing restricted airspace over 44 military sites. Meanwhile, concerns are growing over the expansion of Britain’s role in supporting Ukraine with drones and the resulting tension in relations with Russia.
