Israeli Condition for Lebanese Army Withdrawal
Israel continues to solidify its military presence in southern Lebanon and links the withdrawal to the disarmament of Hezbollah and the strengthening of the Lebanese Army. The Israeli Ministry of Defense confirmed that the forces deployed in the security zone will remain and carry out their mission of protecting the borders, rejecting any imminent withdrawal, and emphasizing readiness to stay indefinitely until Hezbollah is disarmed. Israeli officials also stressed that the goal is to reach security and political agreements with Lebanon, including enhancing the Lebanese military's role and forming monitoring committees along the border, amidst ongoing escalation, shelling, and attacks between the two sides.
