British police data at risk of foreign hacking
Journalistic investigations reveal that the British police have been storing massive amounts of sensitive data on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform since its adoption in 2017. This data includes criminal records, testimonies, victims' information, and confidential data pertaining to over 40 police agencies across the United Kingdom, some classified as "Secret" or "Top Secret." Despite Microsoft's commitments to prevent foreign governments from accessing the data, reports indicate that the data could be vulnerable to breaches by foreign entities or the U.S. government. Moreover, the platform does not guarantee full digital sovereignty, with ongoing security risks remaining.
