Russia votes under special conditions
Russia has announced the commencement of parliamentary and local elections across the country, including the selection of State Duma members, regional governors, and local councils. Electronic voting is permitted, and the process is monitored by international organizations such as the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Collective Security Treaty Organization. These elections are taking place under exceptional circumstances, with regions controlled by Russia in Ukraine participating, and heightened security measures in place due to concerns over sabotage or provocations. Over one hundred million voters are expected to participate, including military personnel and overseas voters. Polls suggest that the "United Russia" party could win up to 35% of the votes, giving it a majority capable of passing laws without alliances with smaller parties. There is widespread voter participation and an atmosphere characterized by caution and an emphasis on the unity of the Russian people in facing challenges.
