Are Jewish holidays becoming riskier
The article addresses the escalation of tension and danger resulting from the exploitation of Jewish holidays in Jerusalem, especially during the current holiday season, to deepen Israel’s control over the holy city. It discusses the role of extremist groups in using these holidays as platforms to increase incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, normalize the Jewish presence there, and connect religious sovereignty with political authority—thereby reinforcing both tangible and symbolic changes in Jerusalem. The article also explains how the Israeli government and extremist groups exploit holiday seasons to bolster sovereignty, impose facts on the ground, and create political and religious atmospheres aligned with the aims of far-right parties. This occurs within a broader context of heightened security and political escalation in the city, threatening stability and Israeli ascendancy in Jerusalem and increasing the risks of religious and political confrontations.
