Diana's Brother's Memoirs on Charles
The new book by Earl Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, details the unhappy relationship between Diana and Charles, including Charles's reaction to Diana's death and claims regarding her struggle with bulimia and its effects on her weight. The book states that Charles appeared delighted after Diana's death, describing his reaction as if he had won the lottery, and expressing frustration over the global mourning surrounding her, saying, "We will forget her very soon." It also covers Diana's attempt to break off her engagement due to Charles's lack of love for her, his hurtful remarks during her birthday celebration, as well as Queen Elizabeth's proposal to restore her title of "Her Royal Highness" after her death—even though Diana rejected this offer, viewing it as an act of revenge. The summary explains Diana's struggles, Charles's responses, and how these events affected her reputation, while highlighting the emotional escalation and criticism directed at the British royal family.
