The diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE, Anwar Gargash, affirmed that relations with Iran are essential for the United Arab Emirates, and that restoring trust between the two countries will take years due to confrontations and attacks in the region. He indicated that the UAE's policy is based on balancing diplomacy and deterrence, with a focus on dialogue and building future understandings to promote regional stability. He emphasized that the UAE has not sought war but has responded to its interests when necessary. He also underscored the importance of Gulf security, particularly the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, as well as supporting national sovereignty in Yemen and Lebanon, while rejecting the use of force outside the authority of the state.
