The Asian Football Confederation, in consultation with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Local Organising Committee, has rescheduled the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. The tournament will now run from 23 December 2027 to 21 January 2028, instead of 7 January to 5 February 2027. The decision followed discussions on recent developments and logistical considerations, with the aim of ensuring the best possible conditions for staging the tournament. Local Organising Committee chairman Yasser Al Misehal affirmed that Saudi Arabia is ready and that preparations are continuing in coordination with the AFC and its partners.
