Youngest Spanish referee oversees Madrid-Sevilla match
The young referee, 32-year-old Mateo Bousquet Fier, will oversee the match between Real Madrid and Sevilla in the ninth round of La Liga, which will be held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. He is one of the youngest first-division referees in Spain and has a positive record with Real Madrid, having officiated 9 matches with 6 victories and no defeats. Additionally, he has refereed 11 matches involving Sevilla, achieving 8 wins. However, the video assistant referee, Guillermo Cuadra Fernández, who is considered a controversial figure, continues to spark many discussions due to his past decisions, such as disallowing a goal for Vinícius Júnior in a previous match on the grounds of handball. This raises doubts about the potential influence he might have on the outcome of the game.
