Korean Federation Defends Players
A report addressing the efforts of the Korea Football Association to defend its players following the attacks they faced from fans after the men's national team was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup. The association warned about the psychological burdens caused by excessive criticism, emphasizing the need for fans to cease creating divisions within the team and fueling discord through social media. It also pointed to internal tensions among players, especially regarding criticism directed at younger players and neglect of certain misconduct, such as protests by players over exemptions from military service after winning medals. These incidents sparked public outrage and led to government decisions to cut back on benefits.
