Turkish Union Removes Montella as Coach
The Italian coach Vincenzo Montella has been dismissed from leading the Turkish national team after losing four consecutive matches in the UEFA Nations League, including a 3-1 defeat against Italy. Montella had been in charge of the team since September 2023 and achieved unsatisfactory results, losing all four of his matches in the current league, which placed the team at the bottom of the group with no points. The decision to dismiss him came after the decline in results and his failure to accept a request to resign following his recent loss, with the Turkish Football Federation announcing his departure without revealing a potential successor.
