Medvedev Disqualified After Ball Hit
The semi-final match of the China Open tennis tournament between Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic was stopped after Medvedev, in frustration, hit a ball that struck a fan in the chest. This led to the match being halted and the Russian player being disqualified a few minutes later. At the time, Djokovic was leading 7-5, 5-3 when the incident occurred, and the fan sustained injuries to his left eye. Djokovic will play in the final against Australian Alex de Minaur, who advanced after the Polish player Hurkacz withdrew due to injury.
