Argentina scandal before Messi's farewell
The Argentine national team defeated Burkina Faso 7-0 in a friendly match held at the Monumental Stadium, missing their star Lionel Messi. The Burkina Faso team faced exceptional circumstances, as they had to play with a young squad composed of players under 23 years old, arriving in Argentina less than six hours before the match due to a logistical crisis that prevented many of the team's stars from traveling. Criticism was directed at both the Argentine and Burkinabe football associations, with some considering the situation chaotic and in need of sanctions and resignations, given the African team's lack of readiness against a distinguished opponent. This match represented an unprecedented experience for the Burkinabe youth players and will remain etched in their memories despite the difficult conditions.
