Gulf Cup Leader with Nine Points
The Saudi Arabian national football team won the Gulf Cup for the first time in its history after achieving three consecutive victories in Group One during the 2026 edition, earning a total of nine points. The journey began with a 1-0 win over Kuwait, followed by a 3-0 victory against Oman, and finally a 2-0 win over Iraq, which led the team to top the group and secure a spot in the semi-finals to face Qatar. This is the first time a team has won all nine points in a group consisting of four teams, compared to previous editions that included only three teams or used the old points system, where Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Al-Nassr achieved similar results in the past. The Saudi team is receiving praise for continuing to achieve record results, finishing their group stage qualification convincingly.
